This PhD course is on sociological theory and methods in humanistic research with a particular focus on Pierre Bourdieu and Michel Foucault.

The participants will gain focused insight into theory and methods for Bourdieu and Foucault; humanistic research based on sociological investigations; how to combine theological and philosophical research with sociological investigations; and training in applying the sociological theory on texts. The course will build on a reading list given to the PhD students before the course. The form will be lectures with discussions as well as workshop sessions.
