Two upcoming seminars on Origen and Augustine

In January and February 2018, Aarhus University will host two seminars - one on the anthropology of Augustine, the other on Origen's theology and philosophy. Everybody is welcome to participate.

Seminars in Aarhus 2018

In connection with the stays of visiting researchers from Argentina, Brazil and Chile working on Augustine and Origen, Aarhus University will host two seminars in January and and February 2018. The seminars will present lectures from senior researchers as well as shorter presentations by PhD fellows and postdocs working on relevant topics. 

 

January 15-17: Augustine's anthropology

This seminar includes:

  • Prof. Lenka Karfikova, Charles University, Prague, on The Soul-body Relationship in Augustine’s Early Works
  • Prof. Fabio Dalpra, The Federal Institute of Education, Science, and Technology, Brazil, om Augustine’s Anthropology in De trinitate 
  • A number of shorter presentations by PhD students, postdocs, etc., including presentations by Morten Koch Møller and Christian Hout Vrangbæk.

February 12-14: Origen’s theology and philosophy 

The program includes: 

  • A lecture by Prof. Anders-Christian Jacobsen, Aarhus University, on Origen’s Interpretation of 1. Cor 15
  • A number of presentations by PhD Fellows and postdocs, including Fernando Soler, Lavinia Cereoni and Giovanni Hermanine De Reichenfeld.
